French Knifemaker Raphael Durand’S Design, Like Many Classic French Pocket Knives, Harkens Back To Traditional Navajas From The Mediterranean. The Stainless Clippoint Blademade Of M390 Is Equipped With A Pronounced Ricasso And A 90° Stop. The Pleasantly Contoured Handle Scales Are Made From 5500 Year Old Bog Oak Wood, Which Is Three-Dimensionally Sanded In Demanding Handwork. The Stabilized Wood Is Given A Matte, Almost Velvety Surface During Fine Sanding. Bog Oak Wood Is Not A Separate Species Of Tree, But Oak Logs That Have Lain In Bogs, Swamps Or Riverbanks For Centuries And Were Salvaged When The Areas Were Drained. The Tannic Acid Of The Oak Wood Combines With The Iron Salts Of The Water Over The Long Period Of Time, Which Hardens The Wood And Gives It Its Dark Color. The Decorative Rivets As Well As The Striking Catch Strap Eyelet Form A Successful Contrast To The Dark Handle Scales, Which Is Further Emphasized By The Liners Made Of Copper. Handmade In The Boker Manufactory Solingen And Strictly Limited To 180 Copies Worldwide.
